Marvin Mccoy

A celebration of life will be held for Marvin and Harriet (Mickelson) McCoy on August 5th at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo, Minnesota. There will be a visitation at 12:00 pm and the service will begin at 1:00 pm. Marvin Dean McCoy was born on February 17th, 1935, to Oscar and Della McCoy in Vesta, MN and passed away June 8, 2023 in Mesa, AZ. Harriet Lavon McCoy (Mickelson) born on September 1st,1935 to Harry and Isabelle Mickelson in Milroy, MN and passed away June 28, 2023 in Mesa, AZ. They met and quickly fell in love when Marvin began going to school in the town of Milroy. They graduated from Milroy High School in 1953 and were married on July 20th of the same year. Soon after they moved from Milroy to Granite Falls, MN where they opened their business, McCoy Oil Company, and raised their three children. They remained in Granite Falls until the early 1980’s when they began living year-round in Mesa, AZ. In Mesa, Marvin began a successful career in Real Estate Sales until his retirement in 2012. Marvin and Harriet enjoyed many life adventures side by side. They both enjoyed traveling and spending time surrounded by family and friends, Harriet always the attentive host and Marvin quick to lead the conversation. They were a perfect match, with Harriet’s strong will and Marvin's quick wit. Their love shined not only in the way they perfectly complemented each other, but also in the love they shared with all those in their lives. They are survived by their son Kevin (Mary Ann) McCoy of Boiling Springs, SC, grandchildren Rachel McCoy of Wilmington, NC, Ryan McCoy of Greensboro, NC, Taylor Morganson of Tempe, AZ, Parker Morganson of Mesa, AZ, and Marvin’s sister Donna Alexander of Rockingham, VA, Harriett’s sister Kay (Walter) Flesner of Mankato, MN and her brother Dean (Nancy) Mickelson of Arlington, TX. They were preceded in death by Marvin’s parents Oscar and Della, Harriet’s parents Harry and Isabelle, their son Michael McCoy and daughter Cindy Morganson, his brother Gordon McCoy, her sister Jeanette Dobias, and Lynnette McCoy.
