Ronald Shemon, 62, of Hazel Run, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home near Hazel Run. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM on Sunday at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Ronald Shemon was born on February 22, 1956 to Eugene and Beatrice ( Skoblik) Shemon in Marshall, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan and attended Wood Lake High School. On January 29, 1977, Ron was married to Rochelle Bartels and to this union two sons were born. Ron worked as a truck driver most of his life and enjoyed anything with a big engine. On February 27, 1981, Ron was united in marriage to Barb Vogel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. They made their home in Hanley Falls for a few years until moving to their current farm in between Hanley Falls and Hazel Run. Ron enjoyed camping, listening to music, wildlife, bird watching and spending time with his family and friends. On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, Ron passed away at his residence near Hazel Run at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife Barb Shemon of Hazel Run; mother Beatrice Shemon; children Jason (Jen) Shemon of Fergus Falls and Jayme (Lynn) Shemon of Underwood; grandchildren Devyn, Max, Laila and Konner; siblings Janell (Rod) Block, Sharyl (Tom) Kaase, Doreen (Dave) Moscher, Darrin (KayLynn) Shemon, Dean (Kimberly) Shemon, Gary (Nancy) Shemon, Glenn (Rhonda) Shemon, Jim (Bonnie) Shemon, Roxanne (Mark) Soderbeck, Audrey (Barry) VanWinkle, Patti (Dan) Weishaar, and sister-in-law Colette (Jim) Rosenau; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene and brother Arlyn. Blessed be his memory.
