Shirley Ann Engstrom

Funeral service for Shirley Ann Engstrom, 75, of Redwood Falls, will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls beginning at 11:00 a.m. A public visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service. A luncheon will be held at church upon conclusion of the service. Shirley Ann (Reynolds) Engstrom was born on August 13, 1948 to Eldon and Arlene (Gibbs) Reynolds in Echo Township. She grew up on the family farm and attended Echo Public School graduating from High School in the spring of 1966. After graduation she moved in with her grandparents in Redwood Falls and began working at the Livewire Newspaper. It was during this time that she was set up on a blind date with Eugene Engstrom. The pair quickly fell in love and was united in marriage on October 12, 1968 at English Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. The couple made their home in Redwood Falls until moving to the country three miles east of town. Shirley worked various jobs throughout her career until retiring from Wal-Mart after twenty-six years of employment. Shirley had many hobbies throughout her life. She loved to camp and would take an annual weeklong camping trip to Green Lake with her family. She enjoyed riding in the sidecar of Genes motorcycle while the couple would travel to different motorcycle rallies. She had a passion for horses and was longtime member of the Redwood Saddle Club. Shirley was a great cook and always provided full meals for her family. She enjoyed going on adventures with her lifelong friend Diane. Shirley passed away peacefully with her family at her side at her residence on Sunday, June 30, 2024. She is survived by her husband Gene Engstrom; by her sons Eric Engstrom, Ryan (Tara) Engstrom as well as a daughter and her children; grandchildren April Engstrom, Emma Engstrom, Alex Engstrom, Aubrey Engstrom, Ruby Engstrom; grandpups Shadow and General; siblings Steve (Toni) Reynolds, Nancy Hirman; lifelong friend Diane (Owen) Vogland; Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Arlene Reynolds; brother Don Reynolds.
