Services for Steven Dutro, 67, of Wabasso, are pending with Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association. Steven Tennent Dutro was released from earthly bonds on October, 23, 2020 in the compassionate care of the wonderful staff of Wabasso Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Wabasso, MN. Steve was born to Howard and Ruth Tennent Dutro on January 11, 1953, in Grand Junction, CO. He graduated Bear Creek High School in Denver, CO. He sold cars for a living at various car dealers in Denver for many years. He married Debra Arneson and they were blessed with two sons. After their divorce, Steve and Ramona Noll were blessed with a son. Steve will be long remembered as a person who was at home caring about people, around him or in treasuring his solitude. He loved nature, fishing for trout, and riding dirt bikes in the Rocky Mountains. He loved blues and country music. He enjoyed writing poetry and photography. In later years, as circumstances changed, Steve found himself caring for homeless people on the streets of Minneapolis. His friends would find him by looking to the sky, as he was frequently surrounded by birds who seemed to know he was a friend. His gentle soul changed those around him...making the streets a nicer place. Some of his musician friends have joined him where he is, and everyone else here misses him terribly. In Steve’s final years, his home was with the staff at Wabasso Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, where the staff and people there became family to him. He gave all he had to bring a smile to those around him, and his love of the Broncos in the midst of so many Vikings fans was a source of good natured fun and competition. He was known to comfort all who were lucky enough to be near him. He is survived by his sister Janine (Dan) Horner and his niece Bethany Erck , and his sons. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard B Dutro, Ruth Helen (Tennent) Dutro, and a son Clay Howard Noll-Dutro. Fly free sweet soul from life’s cares and woes. You have done your part. You gave life to the earthly form that lives within our heart. Fly on to solve the grand mystery of what comes when life is through. And when at last our time has come, then we will fly to you. - author Dan Horner
