Virginia Marie Liebl, 75, of Wabasso, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her home in Wabasso. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM on Sunday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.Virginia Marie (Mahal) Liebl was born on July 23, 1942 at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Minnesota to Werner and Helen (Kretsch) Mahal. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic High School in Wabasso.On September 15, 1962, Virginia was united in marriage to LaVerne Liebl at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. They made their home on a farm near Seaforth. Virginia worked almost 40 years for REM and Service Enterprises and opened her own furniture refinishing business. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them all her talents, and attending all of their events. She also loved to work on the farm during harvest. She was active with the German Bohemian Heritage Society and the Christian Mothers quilting group. She also played drums in the band Beets and Friends. Virginia was very active, full of energy and loved life. She enjoyed studying her ancestry and history, flower and vegetable gardening, painting, cooking, old time music, going to the casino, traveling, socializing with friends and family, and loved her cats and dog George. She loved her lake cabin, it was a dream of hers, especially being at the lake during the 4th of July with all of her family.On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, Virginia passed away at her home near Wabasso at the age of 75.She is survived by her husband of 55 years LaVerne Liebl of Wabasso; five children Michelle (fiancé Gary Smith) Liebl of New London, Amy (Jim) Koupal of Franklin, Jerry (Donna) Liebl of Redwood Falls, Lori (Paul) Iverson of Belview and Mark (Michelle) Liebl of Wabasso; eighteen grandchildren Leah (fiancé Nick Schmitz) Salisbury, Shannon (special friend Dylan Bakken) Salisbury, Trevor Koupal, Austin (fiancé Vanessa Goodthunder) Koupal, Kalley Koupal, Shyann Koupal, Zachary (fiancé Whitney Hustad) Liebl, Cameron Liebl, Shane Liebl, Grant Liebl, Tanner Iverson, Collin (special friend Kendra Jenniges) Iverson, Andrew Iverson, Katlyn Iverson, Erin Liebl, Devan Liebl, Ryan Liebl and Joseph Liebl; brothers Richard (Fayanne) Mahal, Chuck (Nina) Mahal, Tom (Liz) Mahal and Tim (Kathy) Mahal; brothers-in-law Alfred (Katherine) Liebl, Melvin (Mary) Liebl; sister-in-law MaryAnn (Jerry) Jensen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents.Blessed be the memory of Virginia Liebl.
