Wildie Hultquist, 87, of Belview, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Tuesday at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Wildie Mae (Johnson) Hultquist was born on June 21, 1930 to Clifford and Wildie (Moncur) Johnson in Willmar, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1948. On September 19, 1950, Wildie was united in marriage to Verdon “Jack” Hultquist at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Willmar. They farmed east of Belview until 1963 when they bought a farm in the Minnesota River Valley. Wildie was head of laundry and housekeeping at Parkview Home in Belview for 25 years. She was active with the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary, WELCA, the Birthday Club, Sno-Fliers Club, Red Hat Ladies and many card clubs. Wildie enjoyed embroidery, sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, baking, seasonal decorating, wallpapering for people and trips to the family cabin in the woods. In her younger years, Wildie enjoyed rollerskating, dancing, camping and traveling. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Wildie passed away at the Parkview Home in Belview at the age of 87. She is survived by her children Linda (Rich) Sullivan of Belview, Joel Hultquist of Delhi, Darla (Rick) Fagerlie of Willmar, Barry (Pam) Hultquist of Belview and daughter-in-law Marlene (Dan) Rohman; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister Judy (Jerry) Swenson of Port Orange, FL; sisters-in-law Joan Mullen of Cambridge, Darline Dirks of Crookston, Mary Johnson of NE and Glenda (Terry) Dill of Torrington, CT; brother-in-law Dale (LaDonna) Hultquist of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verdon, son Lynn Hultquist, grandson Daniel Hultquist, brother John Johnson, sister Diana Olson, brother-in-law Craig Hultquist and sister-in-law Joyce King.
