Yvonne May Johnson

The funeral service for Yvonne Johnson, 85, of Cottonwood, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Cottonwood.Yvonne May (Bjornebo) Johnson was born on May 28, 1932, in Cottonwood, to Krog and Charlotte (Troseth) Bjornebo. She grew up in Cottonwood and was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. On February 25, 1956, she was married to Murl Johnson in Bronson, IA. In addition to raising her family, Yvonne had many interests. She was an avid reader of books and enjoyed playing games including Words with Friends and her prized weekly Thursday Bridge game. She also enjoyed her Sunday crossword puzzle and Cryptoquip. Yvonne especially enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren and being a “more” grandma. Yvonne died on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at her residence in Cottonwood, under the care of Rice Hospice. She is survived by her children Debra McClintic of Maple Grove, Carol (and Tony) Belton of Blaine, Tamara (and JD) Visker of Coon Rapids, Mitchell (and Phyllis) Johnson of Norfolk, VA, Karen (and Peter) MacMillan of Annandale, grandchildren Kendra Randel, Devin McClintic, Ashlee Barela, Jans Visker, Quinten Thompson, Abbie Gaffaney, Noah MacMillan, Emma MacMillan, great-grandchildren Aidan, Austin, DJ, Jaxon, Jans Franco, Charlotte, Ellouise, one sister Arvilla Berg of Cottonwood, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
