Dawn Anderson, age 70, of North Oaks, formerly of St. Paul and Echo, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Waverly Gardens Presbyterian Home in North Oaks, MN. A memorial service will be held at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Road in North Oaks on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. An additional service will be held at Rock Valle Lutheran Church, Echo, Minnesota, on Sunday July 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in the church cemetery. A luncheon to follow. Dawn Carlotta Ann Anderson was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota on July 19, 1941 to Owen C. Anderson and Isabel H. Christensen Anderson and spent her childhood on the family farm north of Echo, Minnesota. She attended St. Olaf College and graduated with a B.A. Degree and a Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota. She also served in the United States Army. Dawn worked in the computer industry until she no longer could manage a career due to her health. She received much enjoyment from being with her family and traveling as her health allowed. Prior to living at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks for the last six years she had been a long term St. Paul resident. After living 48 years with Multiple Sclerosis,, Dawn died on Sunday July 8, 2012 at Waverly Gardens with her family, the loving staff from Waverly and cat Lilly by her side. Dawn was a life long member of Rock Valle Lutheran Church near Echo, Minnesota and also a member of Central Presbyterian Church downtown St Paul, Minnesota. Survived by her sister Jane Bissell (Peter) of New Brighton, Minnesota . and by niece, Kristi Bissell Tyler (Travis) and daughters Isabella and Emma of Omaha , Nebraska. Also by nephew Matthew Bissell (Melissa Tombro) of Brooklyn, New York and Matthew’s son, Owen Bissell of Denver, Colorado. Many thanks to Dawn’s loyal friends from childhood, college friends and former work associates, relatives, the VA, the staff at Waverly and her companions from Home Instead, who have supported her with compassion, care and friendship through her long illness and death. Memorials preferred to the National MS Society Upper Midwest Chapter or the donor’s choice.
