Kevin “Boo Boo” Michael Albu, age 44, of Wabasso, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Immanuel St. Joseph Mayo Health Systems in Mankato surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 also at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to services on Friday. Kevin Michael Albu was born on February 3, 1969 to David and LaVerle (Lecy) Albu at the Redwood Falls Hospital in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. He attended the Wabasso Public Schools District and at the age of 16, he enlisted into the United States Army. Kevin spent three years in the service and was honorably discharged on July 25, 1989. On July 16, 2005, Boo Boo was united in marriage to Jennifer Kranz at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. They made their home in Wabasso where he worked various kinds of construction jobs over the years. Boo Boo was currently employed at Schult Homes in Redwood Falls. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Boo Boo had a great sense of humor, often cracking one line jokes at people, he enjoyed camping, Albuville bear hunting, playing darts on various leagues, liked music, especially going to concerts, and riding his Harley. He loved children and liked to have them around him in his garage and teach them to drive golf carts and 4-wheelers, but most of all; he loved to spend time with his children and family. They meant the world to him. On Saturday, March 2, 2013, Kevin passed away at the Immanuel St. Joseph Mayo Health Systems in Mankato surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer at the age of 44 years old. He will be greatly missed by many people. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Albu , and two children, Krista and Harley Albu of Wabasso; his father, David Albu of Wabasso; siblings, Laurie (Randy) Eckel of Long Prairie, Ron (Char) Albu of Wabasso, Pete (Teresa) Albu of Redwood Falls, and Gina Albu (and special friend, Mike Pistulka) of Waconia; nieces, Alexandria, Sara, Cassandra, Sydney, and Gracie Kranz, Shaela Walker, Paige Albu, Jennifer Flynn, Haley Albu, and Jessica and Jamie Jenniges; nephews, Brandon, Jordan, and Dominick Albu, Jacob Klinkhammer, Josh Burtzel, Joey Jenniges, Matthew and Kricetopher Walker, and Caleb Kranz; great niece, Briana Burtzel; great nephew, Jayce Albu; mother and father-in-law, Gary and Pat Kranz; brother-in-laws, Scott (Cindy) Kranz, and Robert Kranz; sister-in-law, Sherry Walker, and several cousins, and a host of friends. His mother, LaVerle Albu, grandparents, and Brother-in-law, Bob Klinkhammer preceded him in death.
