Loren G. Wolff, 96, of Wood Lake passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday starting at 9:30 am and will continue until the time of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Loren George Wolff was born on November 29, 1918 to John and Ella (Gabbert) Wolff on the family farm, Posen Township. He grew up in the Wood Lake area, was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake and graduated from Wood Lake High School. On September 21, 1941, Loren was united in marriage to Evelyn Warnke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. They made their home on the family farm where Loren farmed his entire life until retiring in 1989 and moving into Wood Lake. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake and was active as a church Elder, church choir, and on the cemetery board. Loren enjoyed fishing, hunting, pitching fast pitch softball, bowling, horseshoes, and golf. He was also very musical, being involved with a swing band, his church choir, and the Wood Lake Community Band. He loved to spend time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Loren passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Parkview Home in Belview at the age of 96 years old. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Evelyn Wolff of Wood Lake; three children, Jerry Wolff of Wood Lake, June (Tim) Kenealy of Mound, and Jon (Suzanne) Wolff of Caledonia; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Stacy) Wolff, Aura Lee (Travis) Maas, Christopher Kenealy, Jennifer (Robert) Cantrel, Jerome (Linsey) Wolff, Nathan Wolff, seven great grandchildren, and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Fred, Rueben, and Herman, and one sister Hulda Gollmer. Blessed be his memory.
