Michael James House

Michael James House was born on Monday, December 9, 1963 to Eugene and Delores (Otto) House at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at the Wood Lake United Methodist Church, and graduated from Echo-Wood Lake High School in 1982. After graduation, Mike attended Willmar Vocational School in Willmar for two years. Mike was a lifelong resident of Wood Lake and worked at Midcontinent Cabinetry in Cottonwood, Minnesota. He is a past member of the Wood Lake Lion’s Club, and a member of the Wood Lake United Methodist Church. Mike enjoyed going to Prairie’s Edge Casino in Granite Falls for breakfast on Friday mornings. He was an avid sports fan, especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed family vacations and fishing in Alexandria. On Wednesday, March 2, 2016, Mike passed away unexpectedly at his home in Wood Lake at the age of 52 years, 2 months, and 22 days. He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Delores House of Wood Lake; siblings, Julie (and Dan) Bode of Lee’s Summit, MO, Doug (and Connie) House of Wood Lake, and Deb (and Dale) Mack of Castlewood, SD; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and one brother, Larry “Fred” House. Blessed be his memory.
