Evelyn Ruth Wolff

Evelyn Wolff, 97, of Wood Lake, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.   Evelyn Ruth Wolff was born on September 4, 1920 to Benjamin and Emma (Jeseritz) Warnke on the family farm in Posen Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. On September 21, 1941, Evelyn was united in marriage to Loren Wolff at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. They made their home on a farm near Wood Lake until moving into town in 1989. Evelyn was a mother, housewife and helped out with the daily farming. She was active in the 3 G’s Club, St. John’s Lutheran Church choir and ladies aid. She enjoyed fishing, making scrubbies, sewing, knitting, embroidery, playing cards, garage sales, baking brownies and chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with friends and family. On Saturday, December 9, 2017, Evelyn passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls at the age of 97. She is survived by her children, Jerry Wolff of Wood Lake, June (Tim) Kenealy of Victoria and Jon (Suzanne) Wolff of Caledonia; grandchildren Jonathan (Stacy) Wolff, Aura Lee (Travis) Maas, Christopher Kenealy, Jennifer (Robert) Cantrel, Jerome (Linsey) Wolff and Nathan Wolff; 8 great grandchildren; one sister Ione Braun; and additional extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren, parents, and siblings Adeline, Marvin, Ordella, Orlet and Rolland. Blessed be her memory.
