Karen Kay (Pottratz) Andrade age 56 of Wood Lake, MN died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Granite Falls, MN. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Echo, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place in June at the Wood Lake City Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association in Echo is handling the arrangements.Karen Kay (Pottratz) Andrade was born June 18, 1961 to Norman and Dorothy (Kautz) Pottratz in Flandreau, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN and graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1979. After high school she attended Granite Falls Vo-Tech and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at several area nursing and care facilities over the years.In November of 1985 Karen married Guadalupe Andrade in Minneapolis, MN and they made their home in Echo, MN. She was currently employed at Prairie's Edge Casino in Granite Falls, MN in the Deli. Karen enjoyed going to the casino to play slot machines, backyard barbecues with family and friends, but especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Jaslyn. After her divorce, Karen moved back to Wood Lake and lived with her mother. On Wednesday, February 21, 2018 Karen died at the home of her boyfriend, Gary Dean LaBatte, in Granite Falls, MN at the age of 56.Karen is survived by her mother, Dorothy Pottratz of Wood Lake, MN; one son, Roberto “Bobby” LeRoy Andrade of St. Paul, MN; one daughter, Rosita Chantel Marie Andrade-Buckanaga of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Jaslyn Andrade and Hayden Eichens; one brother, Roger Pottratz (Loretta Stapleton) of Wood Lake, MN; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Pottratz, one brother, Steven Pottratz, five uncles, and one cousin.
