Louise Rose Honetschlager

Louise Honetschlager, 87, of Redwood falls, formerly of Lucan, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan with a rosary service at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.   Louise Rose Honetschlager was born on November 7, 1931 to George and Louise (Zins) Salfer on the family farm near Wabasso, Minnesota, Redwood County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic School on June 5, 1949. On October 3, 1950, Louise was united in marriage to LaVern Honetschlager at the St. Anne’s Catholic School in Wabasso. They made their home on the Honetschlager family farm in Granite Rock Township, Lucan, Minnesota. Louise was a mother, homemaker and farm wife. She was unselfish, hardworking and very devoted to her church. She was involved with CCW, Catholic Aid Association and the quilters group. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting afghans, gardening and canning, loved her flower gardens and listening to old time music. She was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. On Saturday, December 22, 2018, Louise passed away at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls, Minnesota at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband LaVern of Redwood Falls; children Mary (Neil) Gums of Aurora, SD, Janice (Daniel) Louwagie of Lucan, John (Suzanne) Honetschlager of Lucan, Michael Honetschlager of Ladera Ranch, CA and Paul (Deb) Honetschlager of Farmington; grandchildren Joshua (Jessica) Gums, Jeremiah (Sehr) Gums, Joe (Cassie) Louwagie, Kris (Jeremy) Hollingsworth, Nicholas Honetschlager, Matthew Honetschlager, Jessica (special friend Kyle Robison) Honetschlager, Grant Honetschlager, Noah Honetschlager, Braeden Honetschlager, Claire Honetschlager and Graham Honetschlager; brother Alfred (Florence) Salfer; sister-in-law Julie Salfer; brother-in-law Joseph Schouvieller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Stephen, infant twin sister Lucille, sister Irene Honetschlager and brother-in-law Edmund Honetschlager, brother Donald Salfer and sister Justine Schouvieller.
