Kris Slettedahl
Office Executive
Kris is a native to the area. She grew up in the area and knows a lot of people from the area communities personally and is always here to help our families through the loss of their loved one. She has been at the Sunset Funeral Home for over 24 years and is very dedicated to her work here at the funeral home.
Quinn Horvath
Managing Funeral Director
Quinn Horvath grew up in Mason City, IA, and graduated from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program in 1992. He has been serving residents of Southwest Minnesota as a Licensed Funeral Director since 1993. He is married to Kari (Swedzinski) from Minneota, with two adult children in St. Paul, and two at home in Marshall. Quinn is dedicated to funeral service. He also enjoys family activities, traveling, reading, music and exercise.
Alyssa Jeppesen
Licensed Funeral Director
Alyssa (Bossuyt) Jeppesen grew up in Ghent, MN, and graduated from Marshall Senior High School in 2013. She achieved a BA Degree from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. She is a 2018 graduate of the Mortuary Science program at Des Moines Area Community College. Alyssa began working at Horvath Funeral Service as a Funeral Director's Assistant in 2017 and has been a licensed Funeral Director since August 2019.
Alyssa married Bryce Jeppesen in July 2020, and the couple lives in Mineota with their dog, Mack. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys cheering on the Minneota High School football team, as well as spending time with her family. For the past few years, she has served as a co-chair for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Lyon County, where she has been a lifelong team member.
Betsy Jo Kack
Pre-Planning Consultant
Betsy Jo (Bossuyt) Kack grew up on a farm north of Marshall, graduated from Marshall Senior High School and SMSU. Betsy Jo is married to Minneota native, Corey Kack and they have two daughters.
Betsy Jo has been very active with the American Cancer Society for many years and is a lector at St Eloi Church in Ghent, where she has been a life-long member. She enjoys gardening, walking and cooking in her spare time, when not following her daughters around the state, and beyond, for their activities. Betsy Jo started in her Pre-Planner position in 2015, having over 20 years past experience in the financial industry.
